Executive Opportunities

Here, you can find descriptions of all the positions from the Skule™ Choir's Constitution and how to apply or nominate yourself. If you have any questions regarding position roles and responsibilities, or require special consideration during the selection process, please contact us at choir@g.skule.ca.

Manager

One position, nomination

  • Oversee the operations, management and success of the group

  • Be the spokesperson for the group

  • Hold signing officer authority along with the Treasurer for financial purposes

  • Preside over board meetings as well as general meetings

  • Ensure transition of office to the future executives

  • Ensure that all the activities of the club meet regulations and policies of the University of Toronto

  • Take on responsibilities of any vacant executive positions

Treasurer

One position, nomination

  • Record all financial transactions of the group

  • Hold signing officer authority along with the President for financial purposes

  • Maintain a budget of income and expenses along with receipts

  • Advise members on financial position of the group

  • Prepare an annual budget for the group as well as budgets for specific events

 

Additionally, the Treasurer may:

  • Manage folder/music rental deposits and return the end of each semester

Secretary

One position, nomination

Make a list of all registered members

  • Maintain the website and member contact list

  • Record notes and motions for meetings

  • Notify all members of meetings and rehearsals

  • Handle official correspondence of the organization

Additionally, the Secretary may:

  • Record and handle issues with member attendance

  • Assist in venue booking for additional rehearsals, sectionals, workshops, or concerts

Marketing & Comms. Manager

One position, application

  • Manage the marketing and communications committee and report to the executive committee, acting as the bridge between each committee

  • Ensure all duties of the marketing and communications committee are being fulfilled

  • Take on responsibilities of any vacant committee positions

Conductor

One position, application

  • Plan and run weekly rehearsals

  • Conduct the choir during rehearsals and performances

  • Choose repertoire for the choir and present it at the executive meetings

 

Additionally, the conductor may:

  • Create program/Emcee notes for biannual concerts

  • Aide in the collection for and assembly of gift baskets for concerts

  • Assist manager in tasks not covered by a vacant role.

  • Maintain the public access pages of the Skule™ Choir website by updating archives, keeping forms and audition information recent, and publishing upcoming events to the calendar

  • Report to the Marketing and Communications Manager

Webmaster

One position, application

Outreach Director

One position, application

  • Maintain the social media platforms of Skule™ Choir by sharing posts accordingly, upkeeping information, and replying to messages on behalf of Skule™ Choir

  • Assist in designing all promotional materials, both physical and digital

  • Report to the Marketing and Communications Manager

Assistant Conductor

[Up to] Two positions, application

  • Take on the responsibilities of Conductor should the Conductor is unable to complete their duties due to absence, illness, or other conditions

  • Manage sheet music (storage, distribution, collection at end of year)

  • Assist the Conductor in choosing repertoire
